Sawa Global will profile 100 of the most inspiring people from the 50 most impoverished nations by 2010. The 100 Heroes, 100 Solutions Campaign will recruit videographers Video Journalists to video document these unknown heroes.
To give voice, via video, to 100 Sawa Heroes in the world's 50 poorest countries, and to document and showcase their inspiring initiatives to a global audience.
To connect 100 extraordinary Sawa Heroes from the world's 50 poorest countries to a global community via short videos and online technology, and help the Hero's project To empower people from all nationalities to directly engage with and support the 100 Sawa Heroes through the Sawa Mentor Program To inspire all citizens with innovative ideas on global solutions to the urgent world challenges
Individuals with some video experience and citizens of one of the 50 Sawa countries. These videographers- Video Journalists- are asked to identify an extraordinary local project and document their stories through short videos. The Video Journalists will work in close partnership with a Sawa Hero to document the Hero’s own success stories using simple video technology. The Video Journalists must meet the following criteria. They must: 1. Live in one the 50 Sawa Countries; 2. Have some understanding of and training in video production; 3. Have knowledge of video clips and website uploading techniques; 4. Be able to access computer, internet, and basic editing software and technology; 5. Have basic knowledge of verbal and written English; 6. Have identified a potential Sawa Hero and be able to submit several pictures of his/her impact; 7. Agree to document at least 4 other Sawa Heroes with an awarded Flip Video (within a 2 year period).
